The CutoutStory (Starters (Rewrite & Remastered) & "The Residents"), and Starters Remix Fan Projects are parodies based off of Movieunleashers' Starters and Dragon Dane Shorts, under Fair Use, and are not Copyrighted nor Trademarked in any shape or form.
All characters in the series and the series itself are all under Public Domain, are void from any Copyright/Trademark (tl;dr, you cannot claim the rights to these), and are therefore safe from Nintendo's grasp.
Anything that is not a pre-existing asset from elsewhere with legally recognized protection (registered intellectual property) (unless specified otherwise), will be publicly available and freely reusable by anyone for any purpose.
